OPEN ART STUDIO WITH ROSA
A place to work on new projects and complete ones that you may have already begun. You'll be away from the distractions at home and meet a few like minded people. Bring your own art supplies that you may already have at home.

INTRODUCTION TO SEWING
Don't be afraid of your sewing machine! This 4 week long class will teach you how to use YOUR machine.
Week 1 "How Do I Work This?" We will learn how to thread your machine, how to wind a bobbin, basic machine stitches and basic machine maintenance. We will sew on test fabric, which will be provided.
Week 2 "How Much Fabric Do I Need?" We will learn about different kinds of fabrics, what they are used for, how it's sold and how and where to buy them. We will also cover how to understand a pattern, how to lay out a pattern, and adjust a pattern.
Week 3 "What can I do with this?" With our two remaining weeks we will make one to two small projects – a reusable shopping bag and an apron.
Week 4 - finishing up the project/s and last minute questions.
* Please bring your own sewing machine to class*
Materials needed (Bring in by Week 2): 1 yard of 45" wide cotton fabric (woven not stretch) OR ¾ yard of 54" wide fabric - this is for the shopping bag - choose a heavy weight woven (not stretch) fabric. Also 1 yard of 45" or 54" cotton fabric (woven not stretch) for the apron. Optional: ¼ yard contrasting fabric for straps of the apron.

SEWING FOR THE HOME
For those who have a working understanding of sewing basics. Learn creative ways to spruce up your home. Sewing for the home is economical, practical and allows you to create your own personal style. We will learn to make pillow shams, fabric containers, dish towels, 'no paper towels', reusable mop pads, sheets, and simple curtains. This class will expand on your knowledge of basic sewing skills. This is an intermediate level class, which will expand on your knowledge of basic sewing skills.
*Please bring your own sewing machine to class*
Materials: First class requires 1 yard each of cotton flannel (any color) and 1 yard of terry cloth (or a bath towel-used fine).
54" cotton fabric (woven not stretch) for the apron.
Optional: ¼ yard contrasting fabric for straps of the apron.

ELDER LAW WORKSHOP
If you are concerned about protecting your assets and your dignity, this course is for you. The Elder Law Workshop is a hands-on introduction to the principles of Elder Law and what you can do TODAY to better secure your future. Learn about health care proxies, powers of attorney, how to pay for long term care costs, about Medicaid eligibility requirements and how to engage in asset protection. This course provides ample time for many student generated questions.

HOW TO LEAVE MONEY TO YOUR HEIRS
You've worked hard all your life. Now you want to plan carefully to ensure that your nest egg will be passed along to those you choose, that your estate will not be reduced by excessive taxes and that someone you trust will be appointed to carry out your wishes when you are gone. We will discuss wills and revocable living trusts, comparing and contrasting the advantages and disadvantages of each document. Special emphasis will be given to methods of reducing or deferring gift and estate taxes. We will answer your questions regarding managing, protecting and disposing of assets.

SMARTER SOCIAL SECURITY STRATEGIES TO OPTIMIZE SPOUSAL & SURVIVOR BENEFITS
An AARP survey determined that only half of its respondents who were either married or who had ever been married were aware that they were entitled to spousal benefits under Social Security. This class will provide a broad overview of the Social Security retirement program while examining in detail spousal benefits and ways to optimize them.

TAX PLANNING AND STRATEGIES FOR 2022 AND BEYOND
Tax planning involves more than filing early to secure a much-needed refund. It means taking advantage of all the adjustments, deductions and credits the IRS code allows. Taxpayers will best be served by having plans and strategies in place now to ease the higher tax burdens they will certainly face in the years ahead.

HATHA YOGA - SUN & MOON YOGA
Breath In… the expanding and opening. Breath Out… releasing and letting go. Yoga classes that accommodate the individual practice and that allow for any level of practice to deepen. The practice of Yoga develops overall energy, strength and flexibility while releasing stress and tension from the mind and body. Learn the physical postures
(asana) and breathing practices (pranayama) in a Hatha yoga practice that will facilitate healing while holding and breathing in postures and relaxing. Please wear comfortable exercise clothing and bring a yoga mat and towel.

Years of experience and knowledge in Yoga, Reflexology, Tai-Chi, Thai Yoga, Massage, Shiatsu, Aromatherapy and nutrition will be used in teaching breathe work (pranayamas), yoga postures (asanas), general health knowledge and more. AMERICA'S BOATING COURSE
Course covers: rules of the road and government regulations, all information needed for BOAT/PWC operation, followed by an exam. This Course meets the New York State Requirements for Operation of a Motor Vessel for anyone Born after May 1, 1996 and Operation of a PWC. HOW TO SELECT GREAT BINOCULARS AND BEGINNER TELESCOPES
This course will show you how to choose high quality binoculars and telescopes at reasonable cost. We will cover magnification, size, field of view, coatings, eye relief and accessories like tripods and eyepieces. There will be a clinic where you can bring in your own binoculars for evaluation. Finally we will have a binocular astronomy session on a clear night.
